The article is devoted to the cognitive semiotic analysis of the text matrix in the novel “The Master and Margarita” by M.A. Bulgakov in its general, basic representation. Particularly, the frames “Good” and “Evil” are examined as the main componential and cognitive-semiotic structures of the text matrix. For analysis, we have taken the text of the first edition of the novel published in 1966-67 in the periodical literary journal “Moscow”, due to the fact that it was submitted to the publication in E.S. Bulgakova’s edition; she was directly involved into creation of the novel, and can be acknowledged as the most competent editor of the incomplete author’s draft text. The article shows that cognitive semiotic analysis of the text allows considering it a perfect complex sentential sign that is used for expression of holistic and significant amount of meaning, structural semantic model of which is formed after a cognitive semiotic model, namely the text matrix.
