Frontal presence of the category of the absurd in the Russian literature of the twentieth century

Activation of extreme and synthetic forms in various spheres of art is usually associated with critical, crisis stages in the development of history and culture. Consequently, absurdity in literature can be viewed upon as a kind of a response to the aggravation of the permanent crisis inherent to this era. In this regard, the scale of the presence and severity of the absurdity in the Russian literature (of the twentieth century, in particular) is undeniable.
