Functions and purposes of innovative management in tourism

The article analyzes functions of general management and substantiates proposed scheme of functions of the innovative management of tourism organizations. Based on the analysis it is offered to use different criteria for management functions as the usage of several criteria complicates understanding of the essence of management process. Principal characteristics of the purposes of innovative activity of tourism organization are grouped and the results of the survey of managers of the tour operator organizations which was conducted on the understanding of the purposes of innovative process. Besides that, this article analyzes the results of expert evaluations concerning the planning, organization and evaluation of the degree of centralization, motivation and control. Main directions of the analysis of performed functions are study, degree of centralization of management, efficiency of each function, degree of development of innovation.
