The article deals with the basic functions of the eco-nomic vocabulary in advertising mediatexts. It isstated that in the modern English and Russian mediaadvertisement the economic vocabulary implementsthe nominative, signification, semasiological, com-municative, pragmatic, informational, influential,popularizing functions.
