Functions of a printed book in the cultural space of contemporary children

The article discusses an urgent question, if a printed book is necessary at the contemporary cultural space of a child, who is influenced by digital technologies changing traditional conception of the surrounding world. The technological revolution enforces revising the fundamental laws which have been ruled book printing for centuries. Thereupon, the new functions of the printed book reveal themselves, including therapeutic ones inherent just for the printed form of the book.
