Functions of teaching publicism during the modernization of the Russian education system

We describe the pedagogical function of journalism, which for many years, making a significant contribution to the reform of national education. It is noted that at the beginning of the XXI century journalism teacher performs the new features due to the significant changes in society itself, as in education. It is concluded that the Russian press, lifting the current problems of the theory and practice of pedagogy, is an influential social institution that have an impact on the pedagogical and social consciousness.
