Functions of the university library in the context of the digitization of education

The transformation of the modern university library is conditioned by the increasing pace of changes taking place in the sphere of information, in the educational system and in scientific communication. The development of digital technologies and the increasing competition in the market of educational services and the globalization of science pose a challenge to the creation of a new university library, as they play a major role in the combined scientific, educational and informational arena. This article deals with these new technological challenges, the specifics of working with library users, access to electronic information resources, support for faculty publications, and the enhancement of professional competence on the part of university library specialists.
