Function of orienting as a basis for shaping stylistic literacy of a musician

Addressing the issue of shaping stylistic literacy of a musician, the author analyses the pedagogical potential of the style category of the orienting function. Based on above function methods for shaping and developing a student’s stylistic orienting skills are described.
