Functional characteristics of platelets in Kostroma breed bulls and Landras breed boars

To maintain homeostasis in the body of productive animals, the existing level of platelet activity is very significant. It largely regulates capillary blood flow, and, consequently, the metabolism in all tissues of animals and affects the overall viability. In addition, successful hemoperfusion in small vessels creates the basis for the necessary resistance of the organism, forming the basis of the productive qualities of animals. The paper assessed the level of platelet activity in one-year-old gobies of the Kostroma breed and one-year-old boars of the Landrace breed left to the tribe. In both types of productive animals, the severity of aggregation turned out to be comparable and low, which was explained by the low activity of the mechanisms of platelet participation in hemostasis. This was largely due to the low expression of receptors for fibrinogen and aggregation inducers on the membranes of bovine and boar platelets. The low activity of platelets found in one-year-old bulls and boars, no doubt, is of great adaptive importance for maintaining their homeostasis in the vascular bed.
