The analysis of the results of surgical treatment at 255 patients with chronic perforative middle otitis has been done. The reconstructive tympanicplastics of ear recovery has been performed. In 173 cases fascia of temporal muscle has been used as the material for reconstruction of tympanum membrane, in 82 cases - autocartilage, taken from perichondrium. The results of the treatment have been estimated according to two indicators - the degree of recovery of tympanum membrane wholeness and improvement of hearing. The use of cartilage and perichondrium for substitution the tympanum membrane defect has been successful in 91.5% of cases, and so it allows to recommend it at large and middle defects of tympanum membrane.
