By functional analysis of scrapers from the north-eastern area of the site Kamennaya Balka II (Fig. 1) excavated in 2005-2009 the author singles out several blocks of microwear related to the tools function (Fig. 2). Scrapers were used for processing soft matters (skins) and hard ones (bone/antler, wood, stone) (Fig. 3). Correlation between blank morphology and tool function is established. Further investigations anticipate functional and planigraphic analysis of various categories of tools and their blanks.
