Functional approach to the education on the question of the adequate reflection of metaphor in translation

The article is devoted to the issues of the adequate reflection in the translation of such means of expression as a metaphor. Author analyzes metaphor from functional point of view and vastly widens list of basic functions of metaphor in modern linguistics. The proposed classification shows how big expressive potential of metaphor in the text. Article describes optimal ways of translation of metaphors from original language.
