The functioning of dairy industry in Altai Region has historically been traditional, with the main dairy products being butter and Altai hard-line cheeses, powdered skim milk. In recent decades, the industry has experienced some difficulties associated with the decline of raw material base due to sharp decline in the number of dairy herds and low level of commerciality of raw milk. For effective functioning processing organizations with a total of more than 30 units are actively pursuing an investment policy, consisting mostly in dairy equipment modernization. A large part goes to the development of transport logistics infrastructure. The analysis of the development of dairy industry shows that a serious problem is steady dynamics of the decline of dairy herd cows. The decline in livestock is observed in all categories of farms, despite a slight increase in the productivity of dairy herd in the average category of farms, which negatively affects the development of raw milk market...
