Functioning of parentetic constructions in the English-language online periodicals

This article examines the functioning of parenthetical constructions in English-language articles of the BBC online publication. The question of the structure of parenthetical constructions is considered. The main values of the parenthesis are revealed. It is suggested that multifunctional parentheses contain an addition or comment by the author to the topic.
