The basic principles of the formation of an ideal society and state, formulated in the works of M. K. Gandhi and implemented by him in the process of his socio-political and state activity do not lose their relevance in modern conditions. We consider that a very important conclusion in the concept of the author is the provision on the need to provide equal access to resources required to meet the most necessary needs of individuals in society. The declaration of freedom of religion, speech, media, comprehensive full physical and spiritual development of the individual as a member of society indicates the relevance of the study of the experience of the liberation of India at the present stage. While forming the national statehood, the Gandhi principles are rather insignificantly reflected in the ideology and activities of the state party of India, as well as in the policies of the state as a whole. At the same time, without complete implementation in politics, the Gandhi principles have not lost their meaning and are directly reflected in the activities of public organizations.
