Hematological indicators as a criterion for early postnatal adaptation of black-and-white calves

The article presents general clinical analysis data obtained from calves during their first month of life. evaluate the dynamics of indicators of General clinical blood analysis of young cattle in modern agricultural enterprises of the European North of the Russian Federation in the early postnatal period: determining the number of red blood cells, white blood cells and leukocyte formula for a group of newborn calves during the month, assessing changes in the peripheral blood system. The relevance of the study is substantiated by the need to increase young animals' safety in order to improve agricultural production efficiency. The novelty lies in the study of the physiological norms of newborn calves in the conditions of agricultural enterprises of the European North of the Russian Federation. The practical significance of the work consists in the new knowledge about the young animals' physiological status, controlling which will allow to create more comfortable conditions for keeping calves. General clinical analysis indicators for this study were determined in the Laboratory of chemical analysis of the Northwestern Research Institute for Dairy and Grassland Farming – a separate subdivision of the Federal State Budgetary Institution of Science “Vologda Research Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences”. The research in this area should be deepened and carried out with the use of more animals up to 1 month old.
