Gender identity and behavioural patterns of pre-retirement Russians in the context of changes in the national pension system

Changes in the Russian pension system, initiated by the Government and enshrined by legislation, transformed the social and economic situation around citizens of preretirement age, forced them to change their ideas, assessments, identification and self-identification, reflect on adaptation, concentrate on areas of life significance, and construct various models of behavior. The paper shows that the Russian socio-cultural context is characterized by the traditional distribution of social roles and spheres of activity between women and men, which contributes to unequal opportunities in the context of pension reforms. It is revealed that the change of identification and self-identification of inhabitants of one of the Russian cities of (Volgograd) shown in allocation by men and women of different significant factors of activity served as a consequence of increase in retirement age. In men - maintaining working capacity, in women - a state of health. Based on the study of the interaction of social and personal identity substructures, different patterns of behavior, which are supposed to be demonstrated by men and women, are determined.
