Gender assessment of cardiac remodeling in patients with uncontrolled hypertension

The problem of uncontrolled essential hypertension is one of the most actual in the hypertensiology given the absence of multicenter studies and generally accepted terms of the treatment, followed by the ineffectiveness of therapy can be state. There is no information about the nature of the structural and functional abnormalities of the heart in patients with resistant essential hypertension, including gender features. 120 patients with essential hypertension 1–2 grade (54 patients with controlled hypertension, 66 – with uncontrolled hypertension matched by age and duration of hypertension were enrolled. The study found that uncontrolled hypertension in men compared to women is determined by high time index of systolic blood pressure and heart rate both in daytime and nighttime. Hypertension load in uncontrolled essential hypertension is accompanied by increasing linear-volume parameters of the heart in women and linear parameters in men.
