Gender dimension of Tuvan politics (Soviet experience and post-Soviet practice)

The author analyzes the gender characteristics of political power in the Republic of Tuva in historical retrospect. Quantitative and qualitative representation of women's in the political power of Tuva in the historical context was researched. The specifics of the policy of supporting women in power at different stages, as well as socio-economic and political factors that influenced the quantitative dynamics of women in political bodies during the Tuvan Autonomous Region (TAO - 1944-1961), the Tuvan ASSR (1961-1990), as well as the Republic of Tuva at the present stage were viewed. The author also examines the participation of women in the elections of the highest official of the republic in 1997 and 2021. The author uses general scientific methods of analysis, the method of expert interview. The source base of the research was archival documents, legislative acts, media materials, memoirs of state and political figures. As an additional empirical basis for the study of the political potential of women at the present stage, the results of an expert interview conducted by the author in 2022 were used.
