The study enrolled 175 males and 64 females with ST-elevated myocardial infarction (STEMI) admited at Kemerovo cardiology dispensary from January to June, 2008. The mean male age was 56,2±9,5 years and the mean female age was 62,4±6,6 years (р = 0,0000). Noninvasive tests, e.g. 12-lead electrocardiogram (ECG), echocardiography, were used for the diagnosis of myocardial ischemia. Coronary arteriography and, if needed, percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty (PTCA) or PCI with bare metal stents were performed immediately after hospitalisaition. The severity of coronary artery lesions is evaluated with the SYNTAX score. The research showed that males and females had a similar score (14,14±7,99 males vs 15,16±7,09 females, р = 0,1542). STEMI males after PCI aged ≥66 had a higher score than SYNTAX score in STEMI males aged 66 and in STEMI females aged ≤65 (15,36±7,75 vs 15,04±6,34, р = 0,7028). Males have the more intensity of the coronary atherosclerosis aged >66. Females havnt similar defferences.
