Gender stereotypes in the traditional culture

The article discusses gender stereotypes in the traditional culture by historical analysis of women's status in the Yakut society. The author analyzes the transformation of gender stereotypes, and for better understanding of the problem refers to its origins. It is noted that the relationship between a man and a woman in the traditional society developed slowly and many elements of the relationship were stereotyped. Under the influence of the feminization there was transformation of national and cultural peculiarities of gender behavior of men and women. They include altered ideas about the role and status of women and men in the society.
