Gender aspect of research in victimology

In the article offered to the reader the necessity of independent and complex studying of gender features of victims of crimes in victimological researches is proved. The author notes that women, given their social and role functions are “vulnerable” categories of victims of crime, so in victimological research should not be limited to analysis of female victims, and a description of its most characteristic properties. The paper also attempts to identify the categories of crimes by the degree of victimogenic severity from which women most often suffer. In conclusion, the author States the need to highlight at the interdisciplinary level a relatively independent direction-gender victimology.
