Gender aspect in the investigation of culture of the antique period

The article deals with the gender problem of the ancient period through the prism of artistic literary heritage. In a gender aspect, some works of well-known ancient authors are analyzed. It is concluded that the social environment largely influenced the status of an ancient woman, defined her rights, attitude in society, fate as a whole.
