In order to organize reproduction and support breeding of the endangered breed, an inventory, genealogical and genetic assessment of cryopreserved sperm of purebred and weakly holstinized Kholmogorsky bulls in the Komi Republic was conducted. The number of selected bulls-producers of the Kholmogorsky breed, whose sperm is available at the plempredpriyatiya RGUSP "Komi", was 109 animals. The share of pure-bred Kholmogorsky bulls accounted for 77 %, with blood up to 25 % inclusive-23 %. The genealogical structure of purebred animals (84 bulls) is represented by 12 lines of the Kholmogorsky breed, including three of the Pechora type. Low-bred Holstein bulls (25 animals) belong to eight holmogorsky lines and one Holstein. The preserved breeding material practically represents the majority of Kholmogorsky lines, including lines of the Pechora type and old lines-disappearing in the rock. Most of the selected breeding bulls have typical EAB-alleles that are characteristic of the ancestral "reference" population of Kholmogorsky cattle, thus providing valuable material for the restoration and maintenance of the population of the disappearing breed.
