Generation of electron-beam plasma of forevacuum pressure inside a closed volume

The distribution of the power release in the plasma volume excited by the electron beam injection into gases of fore-vacuum pressure was studied in relation to the problem of optimizing plasma-chemical reactors design and operating modes. In terms of studied distributions of the glow intensity along the wall of a cylindrical dielectric container (quartz tube), partially or completely filled with air or argon electron-beam plasma, the dependence of the power release in different zones of the reaction volume on the plasma generation conditions was revealed. The glow intensity, and therefore the power release, was found to have the maximum in a certain cross section of the container. The position of these maxima relative to the electron beam injection point depends on the plasma-generating gas characteristics: with increasing pressure and/or molecular weight of the gas, it shifts towards the beam injection point. Behind this cross section, the power release drops sharply, which makes it possible to optimize the reaction chamber length and predict the plasma chemical activity in different zones of the reaction volume with varying pressure in it.
