Genetic divergence of two adjacent populations coupled by migration

Бесплатный доступ

In the paper, the authors investigate the mechanisms leading to genetic divergence, i.e. stable genetic differences between two adjacent populations coupled by migration. It is shown that genetic divergence is stable only for populations that maintain their numbers ratio at a constant level. Otherwise, genetic divergence is possible only as part of the transition process.
