Genetic factors and anomalies of the structure of the gall bladder as a precondition for the development of gall stone disease

In the present work we have made an attempt to generalize available modern scientific knowledge in the field of some aspects of etiology and pathogenesis of cholelithiasis (cholelithiasis). In particular, the influence of genetically determined factors (features of mitochondrial deoxyribonucleic acid in which the rate of cholesterol transformation into bile acids is reduced, some variants of the structure of intrahepatic cholesterol carrier, congenital deficiency of bile acids) and anomalies of the structure (size, shape, position and amount) of gallbladder are considered. According to the results of scientific generalization the conclusion about the role of various factors in the occurrence and development of cholelithiasis is made.
