Genetic control of sunflower achene pigmentation and its usage in breeding. Tolmachov V.V. "Scientific Bulletin", VNIIMK, 2005, v. 1 (132). Constant samples on achene coloring trait were selected on a material of collection and breeding samples of sunflower. It is confirmed, that sunflower seed coloring is a result of combination of pigmentation of epidermis, hypoderm and phytomelan layer of pericarp. Controlling in distinction of pigmentation by three gene system is established.
