Genesis of spiritual and moral patriotic education and its place in educational process in universities of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia at the present stage

Currently, the issue of patriotic education of the younger generation is quite acute in the state, since patriotism is one of the elements of the healthy functioning of civil society. Every democratic state sees its support in civil society, in this regard, the goal of the state is the patriotic education of the younger generation. The purpose of our study was to analyze the phenomenon of "patriotism" in the minds of cadets of universities of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia. In this context, the article examines the process of civil - patriotic spiritual and moral education in a modern university of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. The emphasis is placed on the fact that the ideology of any modern state considers patriotism as the primary link in the education of an active citizen. The terminological apparatus of this concept is analyzed in the context of educational work in the universities of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. The article also draws special attention to the importance of preserving historical memory, and its most important role in the process of civil - patriotic spiritual and moral education in the universities of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. The article deals with the reflection of the concept of "patriotism" by cadets of educational organizations of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia. Modern forms and methods of patriotic education of youth are analyzed.
