Genesis and factors of political internet activism

In the paper, the author offers a definition of political Internet activism. The analysis of factors that influenced the formation and development of political Internet activism is made. Among the incentives for the evolution of forms of political interaction practices, the author notes technological advantages of Internet communication, which are associated with the simplification of information, mobilization and coordination practices. The author also considers the problem of crisis in traditional public and political institutions and the media. The work identifies the factor of modernization of the structure of public spaces for social association and action through the prism of the concept of “third space”. The work also identifies the value transformations that have led to the transformation of political activism: orientation to the practice of self-expression, the growth of values of individualism, and others. The author notes the influence of transit political processes. Factors are systematized on both macro and micro levels.
