Genesis and establishment of testing in national school education

The historical stages of establishment of practice of pedagogical testing of knowledge in the national school education are considered. There is emphasized the modern stage – the introduction of the standardized exams (the Unified State Exam) and the place of Russia in the international studies of education quality.
