The genesis of a creative approach to the regional hospitality industry in the context of sustainable development of Russian regions

The purpose of the paper research was to substantiate a creative approach implemented in the regional hospitality industry to achieve the goal of sustainable development of the Russian regions. To achieve the goal, the following tasks were solved: 1) to clarify the ontology of sustainable development, justifying the transformation of managerial thinking in the integration of indicators of social, environmental and economic nature; 2) to reveal the conditions and indicators of the formation and provision of sustainable tourism services in the hospitality industry; 3) to investigate the algorithm of applying management procedures for the implementation of a creative approach in the hospitality industry; 4) to evaluate the effectiveness of a creative approach to the regional hospitality industry in terms of regional sustainability; 5) to substantiate the application of a creative approach to the development of a tourist destination through domestic and foreign practices. The research object is regional hospitality industry. The subject of the research is economic relations that are formed in the process of applying a creative approach. Scientific results of the study are the following: 1) the ontology of sustainable development has been clarified, integrating social, environmental and economic factors that determine the transformation of thinking in managing a region and tourist destinations; 2) the conditions and indicators of the formation and provision of sustainable tourism services in the hospitality industry have been revealed, including: economic viability, regional prosperity, quality of employment; secure access; 3) an algorithm for applying management procedures for the implementation of a creative approach in the hospitality industry in the framework of five stages; 4) the indicators for evaluating the effectiveness of a creative approach to the regional hospitality industry in terms of economic, social and environmental sustainability have been clarified; 5) the importance of applying a creative approach to a tourist destination in domestic and foreign experience through the tools of a lean and green economy has been substantiated.
