Geographical indications under Japanese law

The article is devoted to current aspects of the regulation of geographical indications in Japan. It is noted that the legal regulation of Japan has a number of features that are unique to this jurisdiction. In Russia, geographical indications appeared relatively recently and are just beginning to become a popular means of individualization. Due to the fact that the civil legislation of the Russian Federation regulating geographical indications has just appeared, the study of foreign regulatory experience will make it possible to successfully adapt this experience for Russia. It seems that in the near future it is necessary to continue active regulatory and practical work towards improving the mechanism of legal regulation of geographical indications.
