Geological interpretation of U-Pb titanite (sphene) ages of the eastern part of the Fenoscandian shield

U-Pb titanite ages can be used for tectonic zoning of the eastern part of the Fennoscandian shield: within the Belomorian mobile belt the sphene has paleoproterozoic U-Pb ages, while in the Karelian craton - archean. In the craton titanite mostly fixes the cratonization stages of crust (2.6-2.7 and 2.8 Ga). In the Belomorian mobile belt titanite reflects the time of the exhumation of tectonic plates from middle crust depths to the surface region during the collision stage of development of the Lapland-Kola orogen (1.8-1.9 Ga).
