Germany and transformation processes in security: problems of the navy

The article continues the series, which analyzes the approaches of the German political elite to security, current challenges and processes in this area, which the Federal Republic of Germany is working on at the stage of transformation of the European and world security systems. The scientific novelty consists in studying the state and the most important problems of the Navy (Naval Forces), the practical significance is in determining the potential of cooperation with Russia. The article contains a brief description of the technical equipment of the German fleet, considers the difficulties with the modernization of patrol aircraft purchased from the Netherlands, with the recruitment of new personnel, it outlines the ways of development of the fleet (co-leadership and differentiated responsibility). Special attention is paid to the limited possibilities of lobbying the German Navy. The author emphasizes that the difficulties associated with internal reforms contribute to the aggravation of the image of the enemy and become an additional obstacle to mutual understanding.
