The article examines H.-G. Gadamer’s project of philosophical hermeneutics and analyses the hermeneutic experience concept. It is shown that in spite of the wide range of covered material and the solidity of the study, Gadamer’s hermeneutics depicts artificial image of understanding, overlooking drastic experience of misunderstanding and its value. The author postulates the necessity of inclusion of trans-semiotic experience in the structure of hermeneutic experience, which pretends to describe comprehensively the experience of a subject of understanding.
