Heroic epic of the Buryats as a mythopoethic basis of the Tengrian religion

The article provides the results of the analysis of the mythopoethic basis of the Tengrian religion of the Buryats, special attention is paid to heroic epic, in particular to Geseriada. Considering the cult of sacred mountains and the heroic epic of the Buryat-Mongols as one of the main sources of the Tengrian religion, the author reveals ethnogenetic roots of the Buryat Mongol Tengrianism, defines it as a locally regional version of the Hun-Bulgarian, Sayan-Altai «Tengrism» which simultaneously has become the Mongolian version of «the White Faith», also called as «Burkhanism».
