Trickster characters in the novel “Planet water” by Boris Akunin: artistic functions and a mythological projection

The article considers characters of the novel “Planet Water” by Boris Akunin viewed from the mythopoetic perspective. In the course of the analysis, features of a trickster archetype were revealed in such a character as Napoleon, the principles of figurative description and the plot-related functions of this character in the semantic space of novel being traced.
