Comorbid diseases are more common in the elderly. According to the data of the existing studies, it is confirmed with a prevalence of 49% in the elderly (60-74 years old) (Zhu H. et. al., 2019) and it is predicted that it will continue to grow in the coming years. For example, the number of people living with comorbidities is predicted to increase by 86.4% by 2035 (Peng R. et. al., 2019). Older age is also seen as a risk factor and is strongly associated with multiple comorbidities (mainly non-communicable chronic diseases). However, the prognosis and causes of such associations have not been fully studied in the geront population.
