Simple interline hybrid Gorfild was developed by a hybridization of a maternal CMS-line ED 127 and a fertility restorer line ED 155, tolerant to highly virulent races of broomrape and downy mildew. Duration of vegetative period (emergence - physiological maturing) is equal to 92-95 days, it belongs to a middle maturing group. Plants height is 155-165 cm. There is only head per a stem. Hybrid is resistant to lodging. Heads to maturing are low convex, half-inverted down, stem is convex, suitable for combine harvesting. In spite of drought weather conditions in a place of hybrid breeding and testing, seed yield of the hybrid was high and exceeded the standard one by 0.65 t per ha, and on oil yield - by 0.31 t per ha. Potential yield is 3.5-4.2 t per ha, oil content 48-49.5%, huskiness 23-24%, 1000 seed weight 65.0-67.0 g. The main features of the hybrid Gorfild are tolerance to a complex of highly virulent broomrape races E, F, G and genetic resistance to downy mildew (the race 330). In fields it is tolerant to verticillium wilt, rust, and sunflower moth. Due to results of the state trial it is introduced into the State register of protected breeding achievements of the Russian Federation and recommended for production in the Central Chernozem (5), Northern Caucasus (6), Low Volga (8) and Western Siberia (10) regions in 2018.
