Hybrid Protector has both high homozygous resistance to race G of broomrape and genetic resistance to the downy mildew pathogen (races 330, 334, 337, 710, 713, 730, 733, 734, 737) and is intended for cultivation in regions with the prevalence of virulent races of broomrape and downy mildew, as well as for organic farming technology. Protector is an early-maturing, high-yielding sunflower hybrid with a growing period of 104 days before harvesting, oil content of 48% and huskness of 25%. It is genetically close to the hybrid Fakel.
