The article clarifies the essential aspects and current features of the hybrid policy implementation in the current geopolitical environment. By the hybridization of politics, the authors understand the final political product artificially synthesized by various methods, expressed in the form of concepts or ideologies. The hybrid nature of politics lies in the fact that it accommodates diametrically different assessments, and, accordingly, the activities of political leadership in the same or similar event. Such a policy cannot be called spontaneous, as it is planned and purposefully carried out against victim States. It is actively and positively implemented in the humani- tarian, diplomatic, financial, economic and other spheres in relation to the countries of the “golden billion”, however, the situation is exactly the opposite in relation to other states. By “hybrid warfare” the authors mean the synthesis of all possible non-military and military measures in various political conditions to achieve the goals of the aggressor state. Over the past thirty years, this policy of the United States and the West has manifested itself in Yugoslavia, Serbia, Iraq, Libya, Syria, Afghanistan, Iran, Belarus, Russia, etc. The United States and Western countries are pursuing a hybrid policy rather covertly, as they seek to preserve their positive political image. It is noted that on the eve of the possible but constantly delayed launch of the peace process in Ukraine, the Russian side preferred to formulate an uncompromising strategic position, which increases the likelihood of prolonging the conflict and more difficult bargaining with the United States and other countries. The authors conclude that our country needs to further defend its interests in the international arena.
