The article considers the nutritional status of patients with multidrug-resistant pulmonary tuberculosis (MDRT) and its impact on the course of the disease. The study shows that patients with MDRT have pronounced metabolic disorders: deficiency of lean and muscle mass, excess fat component, especially visceral, and increased content of extracellular fluid. These changes aggravate the condition of patients and accelerate the progression of tuberculosis. The authors emphasize the importance of early detection and correction of such disorders. To improve the condition, a protein-rich diet, nutritional support and moderate physical activity are recommended. This approach helps to increase the effectiveness of treatment and improve the quality of life, emphasizing the need to revise the norms of therapeutic nutrition for this group of patients.
