Hygienic evaluation of risk influence the composition and quality of drinking water on the health of the population in major cities of the Republic of Bashkortostan

The article presents the results of studies on environmental health carried out within the framework of the branch research program of the Federal service for supervision of consumer rights protection and human welfare in Salavat, Sterlitamak and Ufa, the Republic of Bashkortostan (RB). The results confirm the possibility of carcinogenic and non-carcinogenic risks to the health of the population of these cities when using drinking water of centralized water supply. A significant contribution to the total carcinogenic risk contribute cadmium, benzo(a)pyrene, beryllium, arsenic, chloroform, bromodichloromethane, dibromochloromethane, pentachlorophenol, chromium (hexavalent) and other anthropogenic products of economic activity of the population, and other substances formed during disinfection, irradiation and chlorination of water.
