Introduction. The use of modern equipment, new technologies and materials in the practice of dentists and dental technicians form new potential occupational health risks, the knowledge of which should be reflected in the training of students in the specialty "Orthopedic Dentistry". The purpose of the work: to evaluate the chemical composition of the air of educational dental laboratories in order to predict the potential health risk of medical college students studying in the specialty "Orthopedic Dentistry". Research methodology. The study was conducted on the basis of the medical college of the Volgograd State Medical University. The following equipment was used: gas analyzers GANK-4220 and GANK 42605, dust analyzer IKP-5RM 18, photoelectric photometer KFK-3, portable gas chromatograph FGH. The results of the study and their discussion. Concentrations of pollutants that can form non-carcinogenic health risks; concentrations of chromium (III) oxide, formaldehyde, and lead with carcinogenic potential have been determined. The concentrations of all detected chemicals did not exceed the maximum permissible values. At the same time, the highest probability of organoleptic (olfactory) effects is possible for ozone - 0,0158 (1,58%) and for methylacrylate, equal to 0,0070 (0,7%), which could potentially be a risk factor for aggravating the course of respiratory system diseases in sensitized individuals. It is necessary to note the importance of finding methodological approaches for assessing organoleptic (olfactory) risks during inhalation exposure to chemicals that have an odor and are contained in the air of enclosed spaces. Recommendations on the organization of air exchange, ventilation mode in educational dental laboratories are given.
