Gina 2017: changes and additions

The article provides a brief overview of the changes and additions to the revised GINA (Global Strategy for Asthma Management and Prevention) of 2017. The arguments for removing the definition of "Bronchial asthma (BA)-Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) overlap-syndrome" (BA-COPD-overlap-syndrome) from medical use are specified. The periodicity of examining the function of external respiration in patients with asthma has been determined. The diagnostic significance of the fraction of exhaled nitric oxide (FENO) has been revised. The tactics of "step-down" management of asthma is described in detail.
