The histomorphometric characteristic of distraction osteogenesis activity for different ways of leg bone integrity disturbance (experimental study)

The activity of distraction osteogenesis was analyzed based on the material of three experimental series for different ways of leg bone integrity disturbance in 30 adult mongrel dogs using the methods of light optical microscopy, histomorphometry and variation statistics.Histomorphometric criterion was developed and used - the index of bone substance content, allowing to predict the long-term results of the experiment by the results of osteogenesis quantitative analysis in the period of distraction with the device. The analysis of the study results revealed the series with optimal, satisfactory and unsatisfactory reparative process, being distinguished by different extent of the traumatization of bone marrow and vascular network of tibial diaphysis.
