World Association of Cultural Psychiatry was founded to promote international cooperation, joint research and palliative care around the world. Collaborative development, technology exchange, improvement of safety and quality of mental health care is a priority for the Association. Accordingly, the theme of the IVth Congress was: "Global problems and cultural psychiatry: natural disasters, conflicts, insecurity, migration and spirituality". The Congress was attended by scientists who study mental health, explore human conflicts and injuries, and psychological consequences. The congress program included high-quality plenary lectures by international experts, symposia, bringing together different disciplines and scientific development of researchers from different countries (Dinesh Bhugra, Kamaldeep Bhui, Micol Ascoli, Renato D. Alarcon, Roberto Lewis-Fernandez, Hans Rohlof, M. Fakhr El-Islam, Vittorio De Luca, Vittorio Infante). The scientific program based on the principles of the previous scientific forums held in Beijing (China), in 2006, in Norcia (Italy) in 2009, in London (UK) in 2012.
