Glocalization: A Reflection of the Social Process in the Life of the Population of the Republic of Tyva

Using the example of the Russian region, the main aspects of glocalization, its inevitability and the possibility of using it for regional development are shown. This approach makes it possible to move from a globalization-oriented society to a glocalization-oriented one, which is especially relevant in recent times. This is particularly evident in traditionalist societies facing problems of integration into the global community. Glocalization makes it possible to combine traditions and innovations in various spheres of public life: political, economic, cultural. The article is based on sociological research conducted with the participation of the authors of this article in 2019–2022 by various methods: quantitative interviews, focus group method, interviews with experts. The uniqueness of the authors’ approach is to consider the dualism of tradition and modernity in the context of the glocalization process. The peculiar motto of glocalization – “to think globally, but to act locally” – is embodied in the studied region vividly and fully. The existence of “parallel worlds” of tradition and modernity in Tuva can be seen in various spheres of society. The existence of regional programs and a lifestyle based on dualism only confirms the authors’ conclusions.
