The Ust-Voykar fortified settlement (the Lower Ob region): first results of the palynological research

Бесплатный доступ

The study presents the first results of the palynological analysis of the samples taken from the cultural layer at the Ust-Voykar fortified settlement. The samples were preliminarily dated to the mid-late 17th century. The cultural layers were formed by organic deposits (fragments of timber, wood chips, sawdust, etc.). The spore-pollen spectra illustrate the horizontal distribution of the palynomorphs in various parts of dwellings and in the space between the dwellings. Vegetation which grew in the territory of the settlement was subjected to significant anthropogenic impact and was mainly ruderal. The use of herbs in different forms as well as branches of fir trees for various types of floor covering inside the dwellings was confirmed. A stable presence of the spores from the coprotrophic fungi has been observed. The eggs of the whipworm have also been found.
